The following is an excerpt from Stephen’s Moon A Mother’s Journey Through Grief written by
Marcia Carter.
“Every single flower that came through the door was a symbol of
someone’s love for Stephen. I had never before had a clue just how
much flowers meant at the time of death.
….that night feeling that all the flowers around Stephen were like a
blanket of love, that he wasn’t really alone…..”
and my thoughts 4.5.08:
WHERE DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?
Each of us are like a plant trying every day to thrive or even just
survive. It is a process dealing with the elements in our daily lives
we can and cannot control. Sometimes it is scheduled. Perhaps we never
saw this disaster coming. In these times it is in a moment we had not
anticipated and how we roll onward surviving the it. It begins by
noticing what is working and not working and trying to understand it
and improve the reality. It then ebbs to trying something different or
looking at things in a different way before moving on the problem in
another slant of normal. Or unexpectedly just having an alternative way
to do whatever the task is - doing the opposite of what is normal or
routine.
The garden is where I find answers in no particular explaining or
articulate analogy that brings me comfort; tending to plants that need
tending to or such will become over grown, infested with critters,
droopy from lack of water or food. Thus, filling a void of loss and
comfort in being surrounded by beauty that still needs my energy and
nurturing. sharing the beauty is also a joy that is the reason we are
human - we need one another. It also is forcing me to physical exertion
and not being alone surrounded by so much that keeps me “company.”
All is precisely what it is nurturing my own home garden, Briones Room
8 and Reading Garden. Daily this is the goal to support gently the
development of a single flower or any plant that is here that is in a
good place and doing well or needs to be transplanted to try another
spot to help it grow better and be one with mother nature.
Where does your grow???

this is so painful.a hurt that is difficult to understand.a dark shadow looming over me.
